TRUTH

Truth can be a bitter pill. If you are not ready to face it, do not write your memoir or autobiography.

It will bring out roaches and rats who will laugh in your face.

Screaming GO AWAY! only returns them to your subconscious. Bitter pills listen for certain words and acts and will take the opportunity to jump out again bringing consequential impact.

But there seems to be one tiny mouse who refuses to exit. IT just sits on its hind legs and stares. Is it mocking or feeling concern? We watch each other until exhaustion pulls me into an uneasy sleep.

  1. If you wrote it I would read it…you’ve had an interesting life. I’ve been trying to write one about my parents–fictionalized of course, but it has been languishing since it made me nervous to make assumptions…but how else would I do it? there’s no one alive to write their story…go for it, Minnie!

    • Hey, Nikki. Thanks for stopping by. My parents are deceased as well but this is about my writing journey and they will only receive a small paragraph just to show that I was not descended from Mars. LOL Nevertheless, it’s a tricky path to tread.
I’m reading “Writing the Memoir,” by Judith Barrington. It’s a long way from done. I’ll let you know when finished.

  2. You hit it right, Minnie. My autobiography — ten years to write — was a rough journey.

    • Man, I wrote a complete comment and it disappeared! Damn!
Anyway, I understand what you went through.
This particular memoir is strictly about my writing journey. No Autobiography soon.
